South County Courts / RLA Remodel

A “Notice-to-Proceed” with Phase 1 site work was officially issued on April 15, 2020.  This phase, expected to last until the fall of 2020, includes the construction of a new parking area along U.S. 41, rearrangement of existing parking facilities, new stormwater improvements, and preparation of the site for the new court building. The second phase will include construction of a new, 40,000-square-foot court building and remodel of the two existing R. L. Anderson buildings.

The plan is to accomplish all work with little or no interruption to customer services.  This will require careful phasing of the work and special attention to managing vehicular and pedestrian traffic around the construction activities.  The Construction Manager, Halfacre Construction Company, has developed a detailed phasing plan to ensure continuity of access and services to the site and offices of the current tenants.  During the project every effort will be made to coordinate construction with special events and peak seasonal activities.

A project webpage has been established to include details about the project, FAQs, links to current parking/access diagrams, current progress photos, and a 3-minute introductory video which provides a project overview.  Bookmark the site as a “favorite” so you can check on the progress.
