The Twelfth Judicial Circuit is seeking to fill the Sarasota County Treatment Court Operations Specialist position. This is a responsible and professional position that assists management with the daily operations of the Drug Court, DUI Court, Veterans Court and Opioid Court under the direction of the Program Director. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: leads program statistics, outcomes tracking, compliance reporting, and audit readiness; coordinates court dockets and documentation; supports partner coordination, billing, and operational continuity. Supports client caseload only as needed for coverage. During the Program Director’s absence, may make routine operational decisions within established guidelines. Disciplinary, personnel, policy, and budget authority remain with the Program Director and Criminal Programs Manager.
Job Details
Court Operations & Docket Coordination:
· Prepares drafts and final dockets; ensures accuracy of docket sheets and manages return court dates;· Coordinates the scheduling of pleas with State Attorney’s Office; distributes dockets to the Judge, Judicial Assistant, State Attorney’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, and Clerk of Court staff;· Prepares court orders and warrants as ordered by the Judge; attends staffing and court hearings;· Tracks daily arrest records in Sarasota and surrounding counties; notifies treatment and legal teams of arrests, warrants, and new charges; and schedules future court dates accordingly.
Program Data, Reporting, & Compliance:
· Maintains Treatment Court program statistics and outcomes tracking for DC/VC/DUI/OT; analyzes trends and prepares dashboards/summaries;· Monitors databases compliance with reporting and audit requirements; ensures audit readiness and data integrity;· Compiles and disseminates monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to supervisors and Trial Court Administrator;· Coordinates data requests from internal and external stakeholders; ensures timely and accurate submissions;· Seeks grant opportunities and other funding sources for continued program enhancement.
Administrative & Operations Support:
· Ensures timely documentation and data entries; tracks internal program fees, restitution, court costs, and fines;· Assists with invoices, funding requests, and disbursements of approved incentives and bus passes;· Provides coverage and backup support for lab and front desk as needed;· Assists with onboarding and training of case managers.
Case Management & Community Coordination:
· Provides Backup coverage to DC, DUI, VC and OT case managers as needed;· Conducts intakes and completes screenings for residential, halfway houses and detox placements when covering;· Maintains professional working relationships with vendors, providers, and community agencies;· Visits and evaluates providers as appropriate; prepares and delivers presentations to community and social service agencies as requested;· Facilitates group sessions and coordinates referrals as needed.
· Extensive experience with substance abuse issues/treatment.· Knowledge of the judicial process.· Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.· Knowledge in leadership and managerial training.· Foster teamwork, accuracy, high professional standards, reliability and consistent growth within the local criminal justice system.
Minimum of an Associate’s Degree with three (3) years of experience, including supervisory experience. A Bachelor’s Degree in criminal justice, counseling, social or behavioral science, or a related field is preferred, plus 3 – 5 years of experience working with Drug Courts or related experience performing duties for Court Administration, treatment courts or other social services or counseling fields. Professional experience can be substituted at management discretion.
