The Sarasota County Judicial Center was built in 1998. The modern building is 11 stories high and houses 16 courtrooms.
In 2006, the Sarasota County Judicial Center was renamed the Judge Lynn N. Silvertooth Judicial Center in his honor. As then-Chief Judge Robert Bennett remarked, "For generations of lawyers, he epitomized what a judge and court system ought to be about. He stands as a mold not only for me but for other judges, and hopefully judges to come." He truly led a hero's life.
Free two-hour and three-hour parking is available on most streets downtown near the Sarasota County court locations. For extended parking hours, the City of Sarasota offers free parking at its parking garage located on the corner of Ringling Boulevard and School Avenue.
Per Florida State Statute: Handicapped persons displaying their placards can park in any metered space or on-street space without time limit or payment, as long as they are legally parked.
