Before you lead, grow yourself

Congratulations to DUI Court Manager Mollie Cool on her February 8th graduation from the Academy of Leadership Excellence.

Part of Sarasota County Government’s Training and Development program, the Academy of Leadership Excellence (ALE) is an intensive curriculum using a combination of group learning activities and self-study options to explore and develop key leadership skills.

Joining the handful of Court Administration staff that have enhanced their leadership skills is Mollie Cool, DUI Court Manager. “Sarasota County has really nailed it with this year-long academy,” Mollie said of her experience.

“I am truly grateful for this opportunity, and I cannot say enough good things about the program. Although it can feel intense at times, the facilitators are true pros and make it a pleasure. The training topics were well thought out and can be applied in day-to-day work situations.”

Mollie said, “setting a learning goal early in the year was specifically helpful for me because I knew what I needed to focus on and what would be the most beneficial takeaways.” As she reflected on her time at ALE, Mollie said, “I feel vastly more prepared to handle issues that come along with leadership. The academy has definitely made me more confident.”

Chris Agrippa, Criminal Courts Manager and Mollie’s supervisor said, “Mollie understands that as leaders, we must recognize the need and willingness to grow professionally through leadership training opportunities. ALE has been an important step in truly enhancing those leadership skills. I was happy to be a witness to her focus and commitment throughout the program.”

Alexander Cintron, Civil Case Management Coordinator, has been selected for the 2023 ALE Program.
